Transforming Palliative Care: MyPal Project Wins ASH 2024 Abstract Achievement Award
We’re excited to share that the MyPal H2020 project has been awarded the #ASH24 Abstract Achievement Award, which will be presented at the upcoming 66th Annual American Society of Hematology Meeting in San Diego this December!
The 66th ASH Annual Meeting and Exposition is scheduled to take place from December 7-10, 2024, in San Diego, California. This event serves as a platform for sharing groundbreaking research and developments in hematology.
The MyPal H2020 project, funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 program, aims to enhance palliative care for cancer patients through advanced patient-reported outcome systems.
This award acknowledges our team’s research on enhancing the quality of life for chronic lymphocytic leukemia (#CLL) and myelodysplastic syndromes (#MDS) patients through electronic patient-reported outcomes (#ePROs).
This achievement showcases our dedication to advancing palliative care with innovative eHealth solutions. Congratulations to the entire team, and first and foremost to Thomas Chatzikonstantinou for leading this submission. Their hard work is bringing this vision to life!
Together, we’re redefining care for hematology patients, their carers, and their healthcare providers.

Certified by the European Health Data and Evidence Network (EHDEN), as an SME partner to support OMOP Common Data Model mapping procedures
A few months ago, the eHealth lab team, responded to the European Health Data and Evidence Network (EHDEN)’s call for SMEs to receive training and become certified to support mapping to the OMOP Common Data Model, and perform services in the ecosystem. Members of our team, attended and completed successfully the EHDEN Academy’s training curriculum for standardisation of health data to the OMOP Common Data Model and istallation of the analytical tools. Thus, the Institute of Applied Biosciences (INAB) – Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH), has been certified by the EHDEN project and included in the catalogue of collaborating SME partners, an EU-wide ecosystem for federated analyses of real world data standardised to the OMOP Common Data Model.
Activities of National Node of EHDEN project
The Institute of Applied Biosciences, Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (INAB|CERTH) follows the activities of OHDSI network and the EHDEN project for some years now and builds upon its outcomes both in terms of research and technical developments.
The main objectives as a National Node can be summarized as following:
- Increase the network of partners in Greece
- Participate in OHDSI related research
